Did you know axe-throwing was a thing? And you can do it in Millvale?

NESA Pittsburgh is renting out LumberjAxes on Monday the 21st of May from 6 to 8:30 PM. Eagles under age 25 are free (we have to charge you $10 to reserve a spot, but you’ll get it back when you check in). Adult Eagles are $35.

The expert staff at LumberjAxes will teach you some basic technique, as well as some important safety rules. Check out their facility at axethrowingpgh.com 

NESA Pittsburgh Service Days

We are planning on 3 service dates again for 2018.  

The first will be in conjunction with Beaver Day at Heritage, June 2, 2018.

The second will also be at Heritage on July 14, 2018.

On August 18th we will help with Anawana’s Beaver Day.

2nd Annual Corporate Eagle Scout Recruiting Program Roundtable

On March 12, 2017, NESA Pittsburgh held the 2nd annual Corporate Eagle Scout Recruiting Program Roundtable Breakfast at the Duqesne Club.  The well attended meeting brought over 30 Senior Leaders of Pittsburgh companies to learn more about the program and share best practices.

NESA Pittsburgh's 3rd Annual Eagle Career Day is March 3rd, 2018

On Saturday, March 3rd, 2018, NESA Pittsburgh will hold the 3rd Annual Eagle Career Day. Eagle and Life Scouts and their parents can learn about the extensive education opportunities that are available to them. Lecturers will provide attendees with information about college selection, financial aid, careers in the military, and career pathways via vocational education.

The Laurel Highlands Council’s National Eagle Scout Association Committee wants to recognize Outstanding Eagle Scouts! We need your help to recognize these men.

The NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) is a prestigious recognition granted by the local council’s NESA committee to Eagle Scouts who have demonstrated outstanding achievement at the local, state, or regional level.

We all know Scouting’s goal is to prepare young people for life, but does it work?

Scouting was put to the test over the course of three years, when a research team from Tufts University worked with the Boy Scouts of America’s Cradle of Liberty Council to measure the character attributes of both Scouts and non-Scouts — all with a goal of better understanding the character development of youth as it was happening.
